"In February 2002, GE Commercial held its Annual Sales Conference, bringing together all sales and risk staff and invited guests from GE Capital in the USA to kick start the year. The main focus of the conference was to share with the delegates the 2002 company targets, including volume and net income targets and for them to address how they could "step up to the challenge" and contribute to these goals.

With large targets ahead, it was imperative for the GE Commercial Leadership Team to invite a guest speaker to the awards night who could inspire and motivate the delegates to face the challenges ahead no matter how big or small, particularly when the going gets tough!
